If you will see a headline in the newspaper that tells about the award Ben Affleck received you will probably think the famous actor had just won the Oscar or another film industry award. But if you will check deeper you'll find out that Ben Affleck is not just an actor, he is also a professional poker player.
Affleck won 356.400 dollars at the California's poker championship, the winning assuring him a place in the world's championship that takes place every April at Las-Vegas; the winner at the world's championship will get 2-3 million dollars.
The tournament Affleck participated in lasted three days and included more than 90 players, professional and amateur poker players. In order to sign in to the tournament every player paid 10,000 dollars. The poker games took place at a casino house at the city Comers. In each round the loser drops from the competition and the winner continues to the next round.
In the final round Affleck won the professional Texas Holdem poker player Stan Goldstein that finished second, Chuck Fachko, the president of the big movie company "castle rock entertainment" finish at the third place, another movie star that participated in the tournament was Tobey Maguire, the star of the successful movie Spiderman but he drooped from the competition already in the first day.
